Reporter and Cameraman Shot to Death On-Air


The suspect, Vester Flanagan II has died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

There has also been more information on Flanagan’s motive. According to ABC News, they received a Manifesto from a man named Bryce Williams in which he claimed discrimination fueled the attack. He refers to himself as a powder keg in the letter.

“The church shooting was the tipping point…but my anger has been building steadily…I’ve been a human powder keg for a while…just waiting to go BOOM!!!!”

A reporter and her cameraman were shot Wednesday morning during a live WDBJ-TV broadcast in Virginia, according to police.

Alison Parker and Adam Ward died from their injuries shortly after they were shot. The suspected gunman, Vester Flanagan, was a former disgruntled employee with WDBJ-TV, according to police. He used to be a reporter with the station and went by the name Bryce Williams.
