Hey, it’s broken! That was what came to mind after I first gained access to the 2016 FR-S that Toyota had sent us. It was an automatic!! Blasphemy I tell you! How dare they send us one of the best sports cars ever with an AUTOMATIC??? When you do car reviews on a regular basis they are not always for exciting cars, but more for mainstream sedans, pickups and even minivans. So when you hear that you will get to play with something fun, you expect full-blown fun. To me that means a manual transmission should be included. Oh well, enough about that, let’s move on shall we.
The good thing is that the FR-S still looks great, like a proper sports car with just the right proportions. The FR-S is proof you don’t always need 20-inch wheels for a car to look good either, as the 17-inch wheels look right at home in this application. Adding bigger wheels usually adds un-sprung weight, which is bad, especially in a car with limited power.
