Dwayne Wade Leaving Chicago a Free Agent
After just one season with the Chicago Bulls, Dwayne Wade is ready to make a new move. According to ESPN.com, Wade reached a buyout agreement with the Bulls on Sunday. The Cleveland Cavaliers seem to be the favorite option as NBA all-star Lebron James and Wade have a good relationship and have talked about “his future” with the Cavs.
James even tried to recruit Wade to join the Cavaliers last summer, but Cleveland didn’t have the salary-cap space for him at the time of the agreement. Additionally the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder are interested in getting Wade once the buyout is officially official. OKC could be another strong option considering the team just scored Carmelo Anthony and the two are good friends.
According to Wade’s stats, he averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in his 60 game season with the Bulls. Growing up in Chicago, Wade fulfilled a longtime dream of playing for his home team. Now this 35-year-old free agent is looking to find a new team to call home. Wade’s expected to meet with teams and players this week and make a decision in the near future.
