Developers broke ground Wednesday on Navy Pier’s first hotel. The seven-story, 222 room hotel is located adjacent to Festival Hall and will give tourists floor-to-ceiling views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline. Chicagoans and tourists will be able to take advantage of amenities such as a 30,000-square-foot rooftop bar and first floor restaurant.
First Hospitality Group is developing the hotel as part of Hilton’s Curio Collection which includes over 50 independent hotels around the world.
This development has created 600 construction jobs and is expected to create 300 permanent positions. The hotel is scheduled to open spring 2020.
