Higher Seas to Flood Dozens of US Cities in Near Future, Study Says

A new study lists the cities that are expected to be affected by higher sea levels and almost 200 places may not be livable in the next 15 or 20 years, according to CNN.

The list paints a bleak picture for coastal cities such as New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Miami if the sea-level predictions are accurate as a result of global warming.

“This research hones in on exactly how sea-level rise is hitting us first. The number of people experiencing chronic floods will grow much more quickly than sea level itself,” Benjamin Strauss, vice president for Sea Level and Climate Impacts at Climate Central, said in reaction to this study.
