A Glass-topped boat is ready to set sail along the Chicago River summer 2018. Dining cruise veteran Odyssey Chicago has been running dining cruises off Navy Pier since the early 1980s. Currently they’re building a glass-topped boat that will be ready to set sail next summer. This will mark the first dinner cruise along the Chicago River.
The popularity of river attractions continue to grow as we’ve seen with the developments of the River Walk, restaurants and businesses taking up space along the river including the highly-anticipated Apple Store along the riverfront.
According to Dan Russell, regional vice president at Odyssey parent Entertainment Cruises, this new boat is set to sail on July 1, 2018 on the river just in time for the Fourth of July fireworks celebration. “The river is growing in popularity, and it’s certainly much cleaner than it was five, 10, 15 years ago. And there’s been an enormous amount of public and private development. All of that added to the attraction,” Russell said.
