The Windy City rapper has announced on Monday that he’s not running for office, despite the recent rumors. However, he did put his foot into the game, and made an official endorsement of Austin Chamber of Commerce Director Amara Enyia.
“I believe that me and Amara share a vision on what Chicago could be. We believe in supporting the people at the bottom economically — people who have just been written off,” he told reporters.
Interestingly enough, this move put Chance (real name: Chancelor Bennett) on the opposing political side from his father, Ken Bennett, a former aide to both Emanuel and former president Barack Obama, who has endorsed Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle for mayor.
