The West Town Art Walk is in town this weekend and it’s a great chance to see and celebrate art in every form. With the tagline “art through every door,” the seventh-annual art walk brings art and all those who appreciate it together. Demonstrations of visual art, music, and fashion will all come alive during this event. The West Town Chamber of Commerce, Dovetail, and Seek Vintage organized the event this year.

The Chicago Podcast Festival (CPF) goes into its second year of hosting the art of podcasts and focuses on bringing more local talent to the fest. Last year CPF cast a large net of talent, but this year Chicago’s independent scene is the focus and favorites like Tim Meadows, Bill Curtis and Andy Richter will be attending. The festival is spread out among Chicago theaters including Chicago Theater Works, The Beat Kitchen, and Laugh Factory among others. Tickets vary by shows starting at $10 a ticket.

If you’re running in this year’s Bank of America Chicago Marathon, good for you! For all of us who chose not to run just over 26 miles on a Sunday morning, come out and support them. The Bank of America marathon website has a map for spectators, cheering sections on Jefferson St. between Monroe and Adams St. and at the 16.5 mile mark on Halsted St. and Jackson Blvd. Come out and enjoy a beautiful day and support our fellow Chicagoans! If you know someone in the race get their bib number and track their progress on the Bank of America Chicago Marathon app.

Chicago hosts the Chicago Architecture Biennial (CAB) featuring talks, tours and many events over the course of four months. These events are free and open to the public. This year’s theme is “Make New History” has over 141 artists and architecture practitioners coming together to showcase the impact of creativity and the possibilities you can do with what you have. This is the second instillation of the event after the inaugural collaboration debuted in 2015 entitled, “The State of the Art of Architecture.”

This popular food-truck festival is back for the second year in a row. Twelve food trucks featuring everything from lobster rolls to donuts will satisfy some of your cravings. The event is free and open to the public with 100% of the proceeds from the sales at the beverage tent going to local non-profits West Town Chamber of Commerce and Erie Neighborhood House. The event will feature great food and a sampler ticket can be purchased for $20. This ticket will get you six sample-sized items from participating food trucks.
