Wow, can you believe it’s September already? Where did the time go? Before the leaves of fall blow in there are a few last minute summer things you can do. With the long weekend ahead, Labor Day weekend provides the perfect time to cross off some summer favorites.
1. North Coast Music Fest
What’s commonly referred to as “Summer’s Last Stand,” North Coast Music Fest comes to Chicago for a major summer music blowout. This year’s headliners include: Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz, Gucci Mane (Friday); Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, STS9, Carnage (Saturday); Ween, Primus, Tipper (Sunday). With over 80 acts across four stages, local food vendors, yoga sessions and a Silent Disco (where you watch artists create masterpieces while you listen to different DJs on headphones, there is literally something for everyone.

2. Chicago Jazz Festival
Looking for something a little more low-key this weekend? And did you say free? Well look no further than the 39th annual Chicago Jazz Festival at Millennium Park. Chicago may be the city of Blues, but Jazz enthusiasts everywhere come to pay tribute the greats and celebrate the love of the genre.
Entrance is free with concerts at both Millennium Park and the Chicago Cultural Center.

4. AVP Beach Volleyball Championships
Want to experience the last bits of summer? What better way than to see some live action beach volleyball? Taking place front and center at Oak Street Beach watch some good old-fashioned beach volleyball right off the beautiful Chicago beach.

5. Bristol Renaissance Faire
For a truly one-of-a-kind experience you MUST check out the Bristol Renaissance Faire. Technically in Kenosha, Wisconsin Bristol is one of the largest Renn faire’s in the country. A large village of old timey fun, crafts, games, food, entertainment, jousting and more! The Bristol faire will transport you to another time. So have fun, dress up and eat your heart out. This weekend is the last weekend for the faire so enjoy your holiday weekend with a stop at Bristol.
