The Lincoln Park Zoo is celebrating a century and a half with a special exhibit. The new exhibit, “From Swans to Science”, will run through September 3rd. The exhibit aims to celebrate the Zoo’s past, present, and future. In 10 stations across the Zoo, guests will learn about how the Zoo started with just two pairs of swans it received from New York’s Central Park Commissioners in 1968.
Zoo-goers will also learn about the Zoo’s contemporary care, conservation and community efforts “Much has changed at Lincoln Park Zoo over the course of 150 years, but this exhibition shows how the Zoo has always been a place where all people can come to connect with wildlife,” said President and CEO Kevin Bell. “Looking toward the next 150 years, science will continue to inform all that we do as we inspire the next generation of conservation stewards and remain free, for all.”
Guests will be able to see artifacts, purchase commemorative souvenirs, participate in family-friendly activities, and enter drawings to win prizes.
