Juveniles have been charged in connection with mob attack on the Red Line

On December 29, at approximately 7:12 pm, the riders at the Chicago Ave. station on the Red Line have been attacked by a group of teens.  According to the Chicago Police, one of the victims suffered extensive bodily harm, including bone fractures and abrasions.

The offenders have been captured on the CTA cameras, and their photos have been published in the community alert issued by the Chicago Police on December 31st.

A few days later, an unnamed tipster came forward and identified one of the offenders. On January 3, the police arrested two juveniles and placed them into custody. They’re facing felony charges of aggravated battery / great bodily harm, along with mob action. According to the Chicago Police, the suspects are 15-year-old and 16-year-old African American males. No further details have been released at this time.
