Chicago woman accused of beating neighbor to death with metal pole

Tabatha Washington, 33, allegedly joined a fight Wednesday night in her apartment building in the 5300 block of Washington Blvd. Prosecutors say Washington beat her 29-year-old neighbor Kim Edmondson with a metal pole. Edmonson was able to get away, but he collapsed nearby and was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. His death was ruled a homicide. Washington did admit to striking Edmonson with a pole but claimed it was in self-defense. Washington is facing a murder charge and a judge ordered she be held without bail.
