Chicago Crime Map: Nov 24 – 30
Crime is no stranger to the streets of Chicago and this week we have included a map to show the various crimes committed across the city. All information compiled from City of Chicago Police data and media reports.
1. Sunday, November 26, 3:25 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Bell
A 23-year-old woman was followed from the CTA Damen Blue Line stop, beaten, robbed and disrobed early morning last Sunday. According to police the attacker followed the woman from the train stop and pulled her onto a raised platform where he assaulted her in the Bucktown neighborhood. Police released surveillance images of the suspect Tuesday evening and he turned himself in for the assault and robbery at about 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday. Charges had not been filed as of Wednesday morning. Area Central detectives were still investigating, police said.
2. Sunday, November 26, 8 p.m. in the 4200 block of North Winchester & 3. in the 4400 block of North Greenview
Two delivery drivers were held at gunpoint on the North Side within an hour of each other last Sunday night. In both cases, the drivers arrived at the front door to deliver pizza when someone approached them, showed a gun and demanded the deliver drivers’ money, according to Chicago Police. The first incident happened around 8 p.m. in the 4200 block of North Winchester near the Ravenswood neighborhood. The second occurred about an hour later at 9:04 p.m. in the 4400 block of North Greenview near the same area. Anyone that has information that may help find the culprits are asked to contact Area North detectives at (312) 744 – 8263.
3. Sunday, November 26, 9:50 p.m. in the 600 block of North Sawyer
A 19-year-old man was shot and critically injured during a robbery in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on Sunday night. According to police, the man was walking along the sidewalk when another man walked up to him and announced it was a robbery. The robber shot the victim and ran off with his wallet. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, according to police.
4. Monday, November 27, 9 a.m. in the 1100 block of East 73rd Street
A 29-year-old man identified as Dontae Simmons was arguing with someone in the Grand Crossing neighborhood when they shot him in the face Monday morning. According to Chicago Police, Simmons lived in the Washington Park neighborhood and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he pronounced dead at 10:13 a.m. the same day.
5. Monday, November 27, 6:30 p.m. in the 5200 block of North Lincoln
A 34-year-old man was shot in the abdomen while he was inside a vehicle in the Northwest Side neighborhood of Lincoln Square. According to police, he was listed in stable condition at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston.
6. Monday, November 27, 7:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of West Erie
A 69-year-old woman was shot in the leg in the West Town neighborhood Monday night. According to police, the woman was shot in the leg and her purse was stolen. She was treatedat Stroger Hospital where authorities reported her condition had stabilized. No additional information regarding the shooting and robbery had been released as of Wednesday morning.
7. Tuesday, November 28, 12:48 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Talman
A 20-year-old was shot and critically wounded in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon. According to police, the man was standing outside of a home when two other males approached him, fired shots and ran off. The victim was left with a gunshot wound to the neck and drove himself to Holy Cross Hospital. He was transferred to Mount Sinai where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
8. Tuesday, November 28, 6:06 p.m. in the 2700 block of East 76th Street
A man was fatally shot Tuesday evening in the South Shore neighborhood. According to police, the man whoseage wasn’t specified was shot multiple times. The shooter approached the victim from behind, fired shots and ran off. The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released any additional information regarding the fatality.
9. Tuesday, November 28, 6:15 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Bosworth
A 41-year-old man was carjacked at gunpoint in the Noble Square neighborhood on Tuesday night. According to police, the victim walked out of his garage when a man in his 20s with a gun forced him to hand over his wallet, cellphone and 2007 Honda. No injures were reported and no other details of the carjacker have been released.
10. Wednesday, November 29, 2:15 a.m. in the 4700 block of South Prairie
A 23-year-old man was shot walking early morning Wednesday in the Bronzeville neighborhood. According to police, the young man suffered gunshot wounds to his left leg and left side. He came to Provident Hospital shortly after and was listed in serious condition. No further details or information has been provided.
