Chicago Crime Map: Nov 10 – 16

Crime is no stranger to the streets of Chicago and this week we have included a map to show the various crimes committed across the city.  All information compiled from City of Chicago Police data and media reports.

1. Sunday, November 12, 3:30 a.m. in the 3200 block of North Lake Shore Drive

A 40-year-old man was driving south early Sunday morning when another vehicle pulled alongside of him and opened fire in the North Side neighborhood of Lake View.  The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition was reported stabilized, police said. 

2. Sunday, November 12, 8:05 p.m. in the 500 block of South Michigan

A 16-year-old girl has been charged with a violent robbery Sunday near Grant Park.  At around 8:05 p.m. on Sunday a group of eight to 10 males and females approached three others near Grant Park, police said.  Those three people were pushed to the ground while their belongings were taken.  A 16-year-old girl was arrested and charged with the robbery, according to police.  No more information was available or why the others in the group weren’t charged in the matter. 

3. Sunday, November 12, 8:07 p.m. in the 900 block of West Fullerton

A man of unknown age was shot in the left thigh Sunday night near the North Side DePaul University’s campus.  The shooting occurred on the same block as the CTA Red Line Fullerton stop.  The victim arrived at Northwestern Hospital where authorities report his condition had stabilized. 

4. Monday, November 13, 12:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of North Kedzie

A 35-year-old man was shot in a car at a light early Monday morning in the Logan Square neighborhood.  According to police, the victim was shot in a drive-by attack and hit in the head and back of the neck.  He drove himself to Community First Medical Center and was later transferred to Illinois Masonic Medical Center.  His condition was reported as stable, according to authorities. 

5. Monday, November 13, 2:35 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Leavitt

A woman was robbed at gunpoint early Monday morning in the Wicker Park neighborhood.  According to police, three suspects got out of a red car and robbed the female at gunpoint taking her purse and backpack.  The victim was not hurt and no one was in custody as of Tuesday evening, police said.

6.  Monday, November 13, 2:59 a.m. in the 400 block of North Aberdeen

Armed robbers stole another person’s car at gunpoint early Monday in the West Town neighborhood.  According to police, three male suspects approached another male and stole his black sedan at gunpoint.  About 10 minutes earlier, three males carjacked another vehicle at gunpoint in the 2900 block of North Elston, police said.  It wasn’t clear if the two incidents were related.  No one was in custody as of Tuesday evening.

7. Monday, November 13, 1:08 p.m. in the first block of East 47th Street

A 19-year-old man was shot and critically injured Monday afternoon in the Bronzeville neighborhood.  According to police, the victim was walking in the first block of East 47th Street when two other males approached him and fired shots.  The victim was hit in the arm and leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, according to police. 

8. Monday, November 13, 4:58 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Prairie

A 27-year-old man was shot to death in the South Side neighborhood of Grand Crossing Monday night.  According to police, Devon J. Thomas was shot in the jaw and eye inside an apartment in the neighborhood.  Police and the medical examiner’s office pronounced him dead at the scene by 5:19 p.m.  It was unclear at the time if he died at his apartment or the address he was listed at. 

9. Monday, November 13, 6:03 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Leland

A man of unknown age was shot and killed in the North Side neighborhood of Uptown on Monday night.  According to police, the man was shot by a teenage boy between the ages of 15 and 17 years old.  The victim was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center with a gunshot wound in the chest where he was pronounced dead. 

10. Monday, November 13, 11:55 p.m. on the Stevenson Expressway, South of Cermak

According to Illinois State Police, two men were shot on the Chinatown Feeder Ramp on Chicago’s South Side.  The two men were driving when a black Jeep pulled along the driver’s side and fired multiple shots at the vehicle, according to the victim’s account.  A 22-year-old man was shot in the back of the neck and the 21-year-old man was hit three times in the back and once more in the arm, authorities said.  Both men were transferred from Mercy Hospital to Stroger Hospital where their conditions were listed as stable.
