Boasting over a million square feet and a thousand vehicles on display, the 111th Chicago Auto Show kicked off this weekend. With cars and trucks of all kind and from around the world, there’s something of interest for everyone.
With lots of new models announced in Chicago, there are cars on display you haven’t even seen yet. The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque broke cover with slick door handles and a luxurious interior. Mazda showed off their 30th edition Miata in a vibrant orange color, with Recaro seats and Brembo brakes. Ford showed off the newest Explorer, with an ST performance model and a hybrid police interceptor version.
Toyota had the new RAV4 on display, and lots of models with TRD Pro off-road features. There are very few concept cars on display throughout the floor, however, Toyota has introduced a cool TJ Cruiser hybrid concept, again keeping up with the off-road theme.
Hybrid powertrains in general dominated the floor as manufacturers scramble to grab a slice of the green vehicle market. Buyers are more and more interested in hybrid and electric vehicles, and the manufacturers are responding.
Both Range Rover and Dodge/Jeep have off-road tracks where you can experience their performance, and a corral of high dollar supercars displays the aspirational side of the car market, even featuring a $3.4 Million Bugatti Chiron.
There’s something for everyone and you really can spend a full day here at the Auto Show. Bring the whole family, and see what is next for the new car market!
